Hesh, I think you can safely start carving away after about 30 minutes. However, I always like to leave things for at least an hour. I actually used to wait over-night, but that's overkill...

Hope this helps...

Cheers,

Al

I was able to complete a soundboard on Saturday because HHG is so quick, it's workable in 2-4 hours in most cases.

Resaw-Thickness-Joint
*Glue Joint Plates HHG 3 hour*
Thickness-Cut Rosette Channel
*Glue in Rosette HHG Glue 3 hour*
Scape Flush-Drill Sound Hole-Final Contour Thickness

Overnight is a great thing because you're going to sleep and can't mess with it even if overkill, i love the wisdom behind it so i almost always do my glue ups at night.

I was told to clamp for two hours, and avoid stress for at least eight. OTOH, I was showing a friend how to do a 'rub' joint once, using a couple of pieces of leftover bracing stock. I rubbed them together and put them on the bench for 15 minutes. Then I clamped one in the vice and whacked the other with a hammer. I got 100% wood shear. The stuff is amazing....

Perhaps we should have Lance declare "holes" as the official time measurement increment for the OLF.
How long did it take you to do the binding?   Oh, about 50 holes.

My father in law does that when mowing the grass, he says it's a bout 3 beers and does it with a tractor!
